Song of the week: D'angelo - Really Love

Mr D has been gone for way toooo long now... the rumour has it that there is an album on the way that is going to be called "James River"... but that rumour has been around for like 1 - 2 years now so I don't know... his "Voodoo" album is one of the best albums ever made so I really hope that there is some work going on... all the most recent news you find about him is only about trials and drugs and so on...

Recording in a flat can be a difficult task!

Everything is done... all the instruments are recorded and I am really excited about singing the lyrics on this track I'm working on... so I start building a small vocal booth and setting up the microphone... and when I'm ready to press record, what happens?

Some motherf#%#&er starts drilling in the house next to mine! #%¤#%&¤%&&&#""#/&"!!!!!!!!

....This is the price one have to pay sometimes for not having a real studio to record in... one day... one day...

Moving slowly is better than not moving at all...

I have not been writing here for about a week... sorry about that...

At least I've been working on some music lately... right now I'm working on a cover song which I will not reveal the title of until I'm finnished... I want to keep you hungry! :)

I found it to be a good way of keeping up the playing and recording and stuff to work on cover songs... it makes me not loosing track of how to produce music in the way I want to...

So be patient! things are slowly starting move over here...

This is where it's all suppose to happen...

The candy consists of a pair of Tannoy Reveal 5A speakers, the monitor stands on a Motu Traveler soundcard and just under that you see my Akai MPK49 keyboard... to the left of the mouse and computer keyboard is my Focusrite Liquid Mix and under the table you see the computer and a Rig Kontrol 2 for Native Instrument Guitar Rig... I also have two Rode microphones, an acoustic guitar and a bass guitar...

so I have all the right kind of weapons to be able to create something beautiful out of all the music I have in my head... except for one thing... the creativity... the most important weapon! but that you can't buy for money!

so if someone finds my creativity somewhere promise to give it back to me... because I need it!

Ok, this blog will be about music... my own struggle to compose and produce... my thoughts about the present and the past in the world of music... there's so much out there that needs to be discovered by a wider audience...
